If you hadn’t noticed, the site went offline for a week. Imagine the agony I went through. I have never allowed my site to go offline for that long. The longest I’ve managed was 3 days.
The reason : Spammers were abusing the mt-comments.cgi script on my Movable Type. Partly my fault, for I didn’t upgrade MT to the latest release. So, as soon as I got the notice of my domain’s suspension, I deleted the file and eventually deleted the whole script.
I waited for support techs to get back to me on my request to have my domain re-activated and on the first 2 days, replies were immediate. As soon as they told me that they were going to take it up with the administrator though, there was a 5-day silence. No news, no replies on the subsequent ticket follow-ups, nothing.
Generally, I’m a patient person. Really, I am. Ask my friends … well, maybe you could skip asking Jake, but generally, I’m patient. But the 5-day silence had me on edge and early today, I contacted my host and asked what the status was and told him about the support tech problems. Not twenty minutes after, my domain is back up!
I’m thinking of cleaning up the domain and the contents. Move files around, delete unnecessary files, folders and what-nots. So to my hostees - the active ones anyway - I shall be checking on site updates and if you haven’t updated in months but wish to keep your space, make sure to let me know, otherwise … You’re fired!. *insert Donald Trump impersonation here*

Hi Pia, glad it’s back up. I was a bit nervous there cause I forgot to make my weekly backup. Umm, the whole my own domain thing didn’t work out (long story), so if it’s still okay, can I still stay?
Yep, you can stay as long as you want.
