Since fall television shows are coming back in a couple of weeks, I figured I’d post some news and probably minor spoilers as some sort of a guide.

CSI

The original show comes back for Season 8 on September 27; when we left season 7, the team was fighting against time to find Sara who’s been kidnapped by their suspect and trapped her under an upturned car. Despite being asked over and over again as to the fate of Sara Sidle, CSI execs have kept mum about this issue. When interviewed, both William Petersen and Jorja Fox have refused to say anything about it as well. At this point, everything is just speculation.

A new member will also be joining the team as either a Level 1 CSI or a Lab Tech in the third episode of the new season. It has been confirmed that Jessica Lucas will play this new character and execs have said that she will not be a replacement to Sara Sidle, which still doesn’t say whether Jorja Fox is returning for Season 8 or not.

There are also rumors floating about that Louise Lombard, who plays Sofia Curtis will leave the show to do Judy’s Got a Gun. No actual confirmation of this news has come up though, so again … another mystery we have yet to see.

Despite being 6-feet under, Sam Braun will come back to CSI this season. Actually, it’s just another story involving him - who we’ve learned to be Catherine’s father. She will have to work on a case that might have involved Sam Braun and some of his dirty business. Are you even surprised anymore?

Meanwhile, Catherine takes part in an investigation at what remains of the Rampart Hotel (which was destroyed in “Built to Kill, Part One”). A human skeleton has been found beneath the rubble. Sofia notices a bracelet on the arm of the skeleton. Veronica says that she bought a necklace at the Indian Market in Santa Fe which looks like it could belong to a matching set. Have they unearthed a Native American burial site, or is this another secret that Sam Braun tried to cover up? - CSI Files

Perhaps the best spoiler I’ve got for this season’s CSI has got to be the cross-over episode the show is going to do with Without a Trace. WaT’s Jack Malone (played by Anthony LaPaglia) will visit Las Vegas during the CSI time slot and the story will continue on to WaT’s time slot which airs right after CSI.

CSI:NY

CSI:NY’s 4th season which starts September 26 hasn’t got much going on in the spoilers department although it does look like it’s going to be a good season from the promo. The season starts with Mac flying back in from London just in time to work on a case involving a murder on the Statue of Liberty.

The show also gets an addition to the cast list; Adam Buckley who plays lab tech Adam Ross joins the cast as a series regular in the new season.

As a fan of all things spooky, I’m very much looking forward to episode : Boo.

Stargate Atlantis

I’ve been keeping a close watch on the SGA spoilers because I just couldn’t help myself. Perhaps the biggest change you’ll see in the new season will be SG-1’s Samantha Carter. She’s moving in to the city of the ancestors to take over Elizabeth Weir played by Torri Higginson who is leaving the show and only appearing in a couple of episodes.

As shown in last season’s finale, Dr. Jennifer Keller (played by Firefly’s Jewel Staite) takes over Dr. Beckett’s post when he died in episode Sunday. OOpps! Did I just spoil season 3 for you? No matter, she joins the cast this season along with Samantha Carter as a regular. And if any of you are familiar with the Firefly curse, pray with me that this doesn’t befall SGA.

Another SG-1 character, Teal’c (played by Christopher Judge) will be appearing in an episode.

Speaking of characters disappearing and appearing, our friendly Doctor Carson Beckett will also return for a few episodes this season. I’m still unclear as to what and how exactly he’s returning because last time I checked, he was VERY dead. Could it possibly be the work of the expedition’s ‘hands-inside-your-head’ enemies?

A lot of character development will happen this season which will include all of the major cast members. We’ll get to see old friends of Ronon in Reunion (which will star Mark Dacascos, so I’m pretty excited about that). McKay’s sister (played by Kate Hewlett who’s also David Hewlett’s real life sister) comes back in Miller’s Crossing for more sibling fun. John Sheppard will take Ronon back to Earth with him when he takes some personal time in Outcast. Teyla gets pregnant this season (working in Rachel Lutrell’s real life pregnancy), and we find out early into the season who the father of the child is. And as if fighting the Wraith and Replicators aren’t enough, the team becomes enemy to yet another group! Jeez … can’t these people just get along with everybody?

Doctor Who

My newly discovered fandom, Doctor Who returns this Christmas with the Christmas episode called “Voyage of the Damned”. The episode will feature pop star Kylie Minogue as the Doctor’s companion of the moment aboard the doomed Titanic.

When we left last season, Martha Jones has said no to the Doctor’s offer to travel with him again after the events of The Sound of Drums and The Last of the Time Lords. Joining the Doctor for the entire fourth season is Season 3’s Christmas special, the Runaway Bride, companion Donna. While Martha Jones will appear in four episodes of the Doctor Who spin-off show Torchwood, she will return to cruise time and space with the Doctor and Donna later in the season.

Season 4 will see the Doctor cross paths with the Ood again (first seen in Impossible Planet and Satan’s Pit) in an episode called “Planet of the Ood“. I wonder how the Doctor is going to take the meeting, seeing as when he first met them, he was with Rose.

There are rumors that the Doctor will run into his 5th regeneration (played by Peter Davison). Outpost Gallifrey reports :

McCoy claimed that Fifth Doctor Peter Davison is due to return for Series 4 in a Multi-Doctor episode.

Doctor Who legend Peter Davison is to step back into the Tardis – and come face to face with the current Doctor.

Peter, 56, who played the Timelord in the 1980s, will pull on his famous trenchcoat once again for a Children In Need special.

There are a couple of news items beyond Season 4 too. Doctor Who will be taking a break in 2009 with only 3 episode specials for that year as David Tennant will be appearing in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Hamlet from July to November of 2008. The show will return for Season 5 in 2010 but as to whether David Tennant shall reprise his role as the Tenth Doctor (which I wish he will), that is still subject to speculation. A lot of fans (myself included despite wishing it weren’t) think that the 3-episode specials in between season 4 and 5 sounds like a ‘transition/regeneration’ setting for an Eleventh Doctor. I hope that isn’t the case. David Tennant is brilliant as The Doctor. A lot of rumors are flying around as to who is being considered to play Eleven which included James Nesbitt (from Jekyll), Harry Lloyd (Robin Hood) and Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe. No confirmations or follow-ups have been made about this except in the case of James Nesbitt. Doctor Who writer Steven Moffat has officially dismissed rumors about Mr. Nesbitt playing the Eleventh Doctor.

Other rumored guest stars are : Ben Kingsley to play the Dalek’s creator, Davros; David Bowie; and Joan Collins.

and to close this post off …

Battlestar Galactica

I remained spoiler-free for this one show that I am absolutely dying to start. It comes back in 2008 on what is reported to be it’s last season. I shall remain spoiler-free because I hope the show is going to end with a kick to our Cylon balls that we will continue to feel 1000 fleet jumps later.

The one spoiler I allowed in is the rumor that instead of the reported 24 episodes this season, they’re making it 20 episodes but broken into two years. And I say, What the Frak?

The other shows I shall be watching this season are : (Ones I previously watched) Bones, Supernatural, House, Ugly Betty, Prison Break, and Torchwood. (Ones I am going to watch when they premiere) Bionic Woman, Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Moonlight. A ‘probably’ on Life and Chuck.

That’s it. That’s all the spoilers I have right now. God, how excited am I for all of my fandom shows to start?

N.B. Just so you know, it took me 4 days to finally finish this post.
