Do my eyes deceive me? Are they telling me that my last post was still back in November? I have been up to my neck with stuff to do at work that my ‘to-post’ list for the blog has multiplied.

Now, on to the subject of this post : John, Paulo and :vix:’s car accident last Thursday.

I got a phone call from :vix: last Thursday afternoon while I was deep in work and since the line the reception was abysmal, I didn’t pay much attention to it. I later found out that it was my brother calling from the Cadiz City Hospital. He had taken :vix: there to be attended to because they got into a car accident and :vix: hurt her shoulder.

They were apparently on their way home to Bacolod when some idiotic pedestrian ran to cross the road looking the other way. John swerved to avoid the guy but had a hard time stopping the car as the road was mostly gravel and sand. The hit a parked car on the other side of the road with some force.

Paulo, my brother, didn’t sustain any injury except for a couple of sore spots; John has some bruising here and there but :vix: as it turns out got a small fracture and a dislocated shoulder.

Once they’ve returned to Bacolod, they headed straight to a better hospital. I was shocked to see what the Cadiz hospital did to :vix:. Since, they said, they didn’t have the right equipment or staff to help her out, they temporarily placed her arm on a sling. It wasn’t much of a sling, more like just a piece of short cloth to steady her arm. The ER doctor had to pop her shoulder back in place three times and checked the x-rays every time he did to be sure it was actually back in the right position.

John, too, decided to stay in the hospital overnight for observation because he was feeling back pains and knee pains. They both got out from there the next day and rested. They’re all back at work … yes, including :vix: as you can see here :

We’re very thankful that these were the only injuries they got considering the state of the car.
