The past few weeks have been a busy one for us. There have been a lot of things that I would have probably blogged about if only I had the slight inclination to do so, but alas, I procrastinate too much and the interest is gone.

My younger brother has flown to Manila a few weeks back to have re-constructive knee surgery for his old injury. He’s now recuperating from the surgery and will return to the hospital for a cast that will last another 2 weeks. He comes back home at the end of the month. While he’s resting and unable to move from bed he’s enjoying part-time use of my WoW account.

BSG - 4×01The fourth and final season of Battlestar Galactica started last weekend after a whole year of waiting. I was all excitement when the day started knowing that I was going to get the chance to watch the premiere. When the last season ended, we found out who four of the final five cylons were and Lee gets the shock of his life when Kara and her viper return from the dead. Is Starbuck a cylon? Will the other four cylons aboard Galactica do what they’re programmed to do? Vix and I have decided to play a little BSG game every week. During each week’s episode, we’re going to base our “who is the final cylon” prediction from the events within the episode. And when the time comes that the final cylon is revealed, whenever that may be, we’ll count the number of times each character has been tagged a cylon and see if we were right. This week, we both agree on : Gaius Baltar.

Doctor Who - 4×01The fourth season of BBC’s Doctor Who starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate as his companion started this weekend as well. Having been without the Doctor for some time I am very happy indeed that the show is back on air. The episode involved your regular aliens from another universe (this time in the form of little adipose children) coming to destroy the earth starting with London and the Doctor and Donna meeting each other again after a whole year. Apparently, Donna has regretted her decision not to travel time and space with the Doctor and has been tracking him down for a while by investigating alien happenings too. I wonder how she could have been missed by Torchwood. I knew that Rose was coming back this season but I was absolutely stunned to see her on the first episode! Oh now I’m dying to find out how she and the Doctor will be reunited!

Torchwood - 2×13Speaking of Torchwood, season 2 climaxed last week and I must say, that has got to be the best Torchwood episode ever. I have enjoyed this season so much which totally made up for the let-down in the latter parts of season 1. I actually felt pity for Owen this season, something I never thought I’d feel. I liked that even though it was clear Gwen loved Jack, she married Reese instead. Making the whole love triangle even more solid. There were really great storylines this season, and I particularly loved the “Sleeper”, “Adam” and “Out of the Rain” episodes. I also found that Jack is more charming and fun to be around when Martha Jones (who was the Doctor’s companion for season 3 of Doctor Who) came to visit for two episodes. Now, I’m really looking forward to season 3!

Guild Run : Magtheridon

On the WoW front, our guild went on our first and test run against Magtheridon. We had to pug/invite other players from other guilds to join us since we couldn’t reach the 25-man number and we definitely needed that many. We had an hour before the instance resets and it being our first time, we wiped, 4 times. As all major dungeon bosses in WoW go, Magtheridon has his different phases, spells and attacks. There are specific tricks to finishing him off and a lot of tutorials in youtube. The first wipe was when one of the pugged members’ pet started the attack because it was set on aggro instead of the usual defensive mode. The second wipe was because we couldn’t coordinate the box clicking correctly. I have to admit that I, myself wasn’t sure when and how to click it at first. Third and the final wipe was mostly the same — getting comfortable with the simultaneously box clicking and avoiding the different attacks from Magtheridon. At midnight, we called it a day because of the reset and decided we’ll do it again tonight. Over all it was a good first run. So wish us luck tonight! Here’s to hoping we don’t have tons of wipe and the damage repair won’t cost me too much gold!
