Of Elections
So today the country packed themselves into the polling stations for the Senatorial, Provincial and Local Elections. I, myself traveled back to Bago to cast my vote. The voting stations are usually set at my old grade school (where I also met some of my old grade school classmates!) and we only had to look for our precincts. There we were, lining up to cast our votes when we’re told that we needed to go to the other line to tell them our names so they can take out our records (piece of paper) and add it to another bunch. There are usually poll watchers that should make the flow of voting easier and faster.

In contrast, the watchers — or should I say one of the watchers wasn’t doing much except preparing the records of voters while the other watcher handled the handing out of the ballots, the receiving and processing of filled out ballots AND calling out who is supposed to vote next. It took an hour for us to actually cast our votes! I have no idea what the other watcher was supposed to be there …
